How it works

  1. Choose Larnaca at booking

Select Larnaca Airport as your pickup point and add your flight number. The €85 per-direction meet & transfer fee is shown clearly on the form.

  2. We meet you at arrivals

Our team member tracks your flight and waits for you in the arrivals hall. You ride toward the Deryneia crossing together — about an hour's drive.

  3. Walk across the border

At Deryneia you walk through passport control — rental cars can't cross, so this short walk is how every traveller does it. It usually takes minutes.

  4. Your car waits on the north side

Right across the crossing, your rental is ready: quick condition check, keys in hand. Famagusta is ~10 minutes away, Long Beach ~25.

Why not just rent in the south and drive across?

Insurance bought with a South Cyprus rental stops at the Green Line. Crossing north means buying separate daily border insurance at a kiosk, and damage claims on the north side routinely fall into coverage gaps. Many southern rental firms either forbid the crossing or add surcharges on top.

With our model the car never crosses at all: you walk through passport control, and a north-plated, north-insured car is waiting for you. No kiosk, no surcharges, no grey zones — and the rental itself comes with no deposit and no credit-card requirement.

Who the Larnaca route makes sense for

Larnaca has frequent direct flights from most of Europe, while reaching Ercan usually means connecting through İstanbul. Add up ticket prices and total travel time, and for many travellers from Western Europe the Larnaca + meet-and-transfer combination wins.

The €85 per-direction fee is competitive with what third-party transfer companies charge for the Larnaca–Famagusta run — with the difference that your car, your transfer and your timing live in one booking, planned around your actual flight.

The hard rule: rental cars don't cross

Cars rented in North Cyprus cannot enter the south under any circumstance — insurance coverage ends at the Green Line and legal restrictions apply. This is industry-wide, with no exceptions, in both directions.

If your trip also needs driving on the south side, that leg requires a separate southern rental. For the northern leg, the car plus the Larnaca meet service are handled in a single Kipra booking.

Larnaca pickup — frequently asked questions

How much is the Larnaca Airport meet service?

It's €85 per direction (current fee, shown clearly on the booking form). That covers meeting you at arrivals and the transfer to the Deryneia crossing; the car rental itself is priced separately with VAT and insurance included.

Can't I collect the rental car at Larnaca itself?

No — North Cyprus rental cars cannot cross to the south (insurance and legal restrictions, both directions). That's why we meet you at Larnaca and hand the car over on the north side of the crossing.

How does the border crossing work?

You walk through passport control at the Deryneia crossing — it usually takes minutes. Our driver brings you to the gate on the south side, and your car waits with our team right across on the north side.

Do you offer the same service for my return flight?

Yes — the service runs in both directions (€85 per direction): return the car on the north side, walk across, and our driver takes you back to Larnaca. Just pick Larnaca as your return point at booking.

How long does Larnaca to Famagusta take in total?

The drive is about an hour, plus the border crossing — door to door, planning around 1.5 hours is realistic. Since we track your flight number, delays don't break the plan.

Do I need a deposit or credit card?

No. Kipra takes no deposit and doesn't require a credit card; pay by cash, card or bank transfer. A valid licence and your passport or ID are enough. Minimum driver age is 21, with a young-driver fee for 21–24.
